ECD Painting, Decoration and Teaching

Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) has been conducting various projects under Children’s Development Program with the aim to protect the rights of all children in the community. Till date VIN has supported over 53 schools with new ECD centers to facilitate children’s psychological, social and physical development.

This week, VIN completed an additional ECD classroom at Guheshwori Secondary School with the help of 17 international volunteers from International School of Dusseldorf E.V. Netherlands and local volunteers. During the three day program that was conducted from 20th – 22nd April, the volunteers were involved in furnishing, painting, decorating and carpeting the room to create a child friendly classroom. They also conducted a health and hygiene teaching program at the school. Thirty children from ages of 3-5 years will benefit from this new ECD center.

The teachers and head teachers at the school greatly appreciated the work of VIN volunteers and expressed their gratitude by presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to the volunteers. The ECD centre is a huge improvement compared to the previous center and the teachers are delighted with how the centre looks now.
