There are many children in Nepal who are facing difficulties in accessing quality education and facing challenges in their overall development. During recent research statistics, around 1.3 million Nepali children could not enroll in schools, hindering their chances for a brighter future. By taking part in our arts and crafts volunteer program, you can help bridge this educational gap and empower these children to reach their full potential in an artistic way.

Link of the Project to The Sustainable Development Goals
Our project arts and crafts volunteer align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By promoting arts and crafts education contributes to quality education, cultural education, community development and safe space to children to learn.
Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) has always been working in sector of community development projects and quality education. Due to this good past experience in various initiatives, VIN supports and guides volunteers throughout their volunteering period, ensuring a meaningful and impactful experiences.
- Basic training of art tools and techniques such as drawing painting and collage.
- Observing Nepal arts, crafts and facilitating practical workshop.
- Set up art exhibitions and cultural exchange events.
- Arrange and make detailed lesson plan and developing curriculum.
- Collaboration and team work which promotes group work engaging children.
- Engage in creative and self-expressing sessions through art.
- Promote recycle, reuse, reduce and make art to promote sustainability.
- Learn and explore local art and craft traditions through field trips.
- Organizing and conducting art therapy sessions to promote emotional wellbeing.
- Focal group discussions on cultural diversity, artistic expression and cross culture
- Conducting partnership programs with local communities on art related program for community development.
- Grow artistic skills and self-confidence among children.
- Develop cross-culture, Cultural exchange and preservation of traditional Nepali crafts.
- Create strong bonding between community through art collaboration.
- Promote sustainability by the use of recycled material.
- Making long-term positive impact on community development and empowerment.
- Experience in working with arts and crafts volunteer along children and passion for arts.
- Knowledge regarding artistic skills and creativity.
- Kindness, patience, empathy, and adaptability.
- Minimum age of 18 (or 16-17 with parental consent).
- Past experience in arts and crafts or working with children (preferred, but not mandatory).
- Adaptability and flexibility to accept to a new cultural environment.
- Helps to develop teaching and mentoring skills in arts and crafts.
- Experience cross-cultural communication and understanding.
- Gain insight into traditional Nepali arts and crafts.
