Nepal. What a nice country. Completely different from everything I know. I confess that this was not my first option, but now I can tell you that was the best one. Kathmandu is noisy with all the problems you can expect of a big and poor city. In the other hand, I can say that this is a magical place with amazing and kind people. This is also completely different of any other country, developed or not. During my 15 days working in an orphanage I can say that I learnt more that I taught. Working with the kids was a fantastic experience. I focus my time in give them love. They need a lot of love. They have a lot of love to give and to take. Now I am going home and I already miss them. I will keep their smiles in my mind and in my heart forever. Of course that is a lot of hard work to be done. The kids suffers a lot with a non hygiene structure in their life. As I see, this is not a problem of the orphanage, but a cultural “problem” of the country. To change that we need hard work and patience. Its very important for them have a good education, including English classes. They really need someone to give them a feedback. To help them with studies and also to give them inputs about the day to day basic things like brush teeth, take bath, etc… I used my other 15 days free to trekking in the Annapurna region. After 12 days walking in amazing places and villages, my body was exhausted but my mind was renew. Here you can really feel the presence of GOD, or GODS, no matter what do you believe. After the trekking I discovered that this is a blessed place for the ones who live and also for the ones who are just passing by. VIN is a great organization with responsible people working nonstop to go further with this and a lot of others projects. They give all support necessary for people working here as a volunteer. If you think in help people who really need, this is the right place to do it. I invite you to come here and work in one of the projects. This simple act will change your life forever. I want to thank All people from VIN, specially BUPHI and SHRADHA. They were very important for me and I will always be thankful for the opportunity they gave me. I hope, in a future not so far, come back and help a little more this serious organization.
