Volunteers Meeting of January

On 24th January, 2014, VIN called for Volunteer’s Monthly meeting to discuss on different agendas of staffs and the volunteers. There were total 14 volunteers present in this meeting.

The Meeting started at 2 pm by introducing the present members in the meeting. The group was divided into pair and the pair has to introduce the other person to the group. With a fun start of the meeting, it was followed by the agenda where the volunteers have to share their experience and exchange their ideas. In this agenda, volunteers explains how their volunteering period is going, sharing of tips, experiences and ways to overcome any challenges in their placements.

The volunteers are devoting their time and work in order to help VIN in developmental activities in the communities. The volunteers involved in community health and medical care has been now doing the first aid trainings in different areas of Jitpurphedi while some other volunteers working on same program are working on the survey of waste and garbage management. They explains how interesting and rewarding their work is. Similarly, the interns of disaster management program have been working on a research which evaluates the effect of with and without toilets in this community.

One of the volunteers working on water and sanitation project in Okhaldhunga has now prepared manual for easy and cheap way of water filter. This manual will definitely bring positive impact on the lives of Okhaldhunga. According to the volunteers teaching at community school and monastery teaching, they have also been enjoying their work so far. The time with kids, accommodation and other support and facilities has been a good experience so far.

The meeting was followed by other Agenda where we discussed VIN’s Update and Fundraising Ideas. VIN and its volunteers have been making positive impacts on the lives of marginalized people living in the community.  If you want to bring smiles in faces and make a difference with your small effort then what are you waiting for, JOIN US!!
