By the mid August, VIN said goodbye to 52 international volunteers and 1 local volunteer. Most of these volunteers were working for community development programs. They were engaged in programs like Child Club Facilitation, Women Empowerment, Construction work, Health and Hygiene Education, Public Health, Teaching in community school, Facilitating ECD classes, School Infrastructure Development etc. It was a delightful moment to see so many volunteers working in the community. They were all active and ready to participate in every activity assigned to them.

Going through the volunteering program process, VIN welcomes every volunteer with brief induction training in the office. The length of induction depends on the nature of volunteering program they choose. Induction process ends with the placement of volunteers to their host family. The volunteers work at the community, school, monastery or orphanage as work assigned to them. In order to learn and share their experience VIN organizes a volunteer meeting every month. By the end of their time, VIN has a short exit process where volunteers completes their exit forms, writes a short testimonial about their experience and submits their report about their work.

During this exit process, Volunteers are brought from the host family to VIN office. With this, VIN organizes a short exit interview of E.D. with the volunteers. This interview helps to reveal all the problems, achievements and challenges faced by the volunteers. VIN publishes a certificate of completion on the name of the volunteers and say good bye by giving a VIN’s T-Shirt as a gift, Khada (a scarf with Buddhist mantras for good luck) and warm hug wishing them good luck.

VIN would heartily thank all the past volunteers for making things work. Their contribution has made a lot of positive impact in the community and other working site. We would also like to invite you to volunteers with VIN and experience wonderful time at Nepal.
