Less than 24 hours after arriving in Nepal a VIN staff member was sitting with me in a hospital waiting room.I visited the clinic several times over the next 5 weeks due to extremely poor luck with the local bacteria. The support I received from not only VIN, but local Nepalis and other volunteers was amazing.VIN made sure I got treatment and helped me get a local cell phone so I could call them if I needed.During my hotel stay they also notified the hotel staff that I was sick. The staff at the hotel frequently checked on me and made sure I had food and water.Other volunteers also brought me medicine, food, and juice. If there’s a time when you’re going to be sick while traveling abroad, there’s no better place to be than with the amazing staff and volunteers at VIN.
