Women’s Cooperative Excursion Visit Successfully Concluded

VIN has been facilitating various activities under “Women’s Empowerment Project” with an aim to empower the marginalized and rural women of Jitpurphedi. Recently VIN organized three days “Excursion Visit” to the women of Jitpurphedi Women’s Cooperative Limited. The excursion visit started on 19th of January to 21st January. There were 41 women participating in the excursion visit. The places such as pokhara, Tanahun, Nawalparasi and Chitwan were visited in these 3 days.

The main focus of the visit was to get exposed to the practices of micro credit cooperative, income generation activities, vegetable farming in pokhara, tanahun and chitwan. However, the visit was also designed to provide recreation for the women.

The women visited “Khaireni women Development multipurpose Co-operative Limited”, “Small Farmer’s Agriculture co-operative limited”, Sarangkot, Pokhara, VYCCU Saving and Co-operative Limited”. The manager summarized the background, working process, transaction and the activities of “Small Farmer’s Agriculture Co-operative limited. The women exchanged their experience and interacted with the members of Model Co-operative of Nawalparasi district.

The women also visited organic vegetable farm Baradi in tanahun. The technical staff provided them with brief overview on farm operation and management. They were outlined the preparation of fertilizers and pesticides, nursery formation and farming management for organic vegetable. They visited historical and touristic areas of Pokhara such as Fewa Lake, Barahi temple, Binda Basini temple, David’s fall and Royal National Park, Sauraha, Chitwan.

This visit depicted the status of women’s micro credit cooperative, income generation and marketing activities of other various organizations of tanahun, chitwan, Nawalparasi and kaski district. The women are determined to practice the ideas they learnt and implement for the advancement of Jitpurphedi Women’s Cooperative Limited.
