Life skill class for women conducted in Dadagaun

Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) conducted multiple life skill class for women in various issues in Dadagaun- cluster of Jitpurphedi community. VIN keeps conducting life skill class for women in the community so that the women in the community can be trained in different skills that are important for them. The training cover various subjects like sewing, educational skills, income generation skills, personality development skill, leadership skill and so forth.

The major objective of such classes is to empower the women and make them stand as equal to their male counterpart.

However, the objective of the life skill class for women that was conducted in Dadagaun was to change the communication behavior within women group member and family members. Communication is important for relations but some factors interfere the communication. Listening is as important as talking. Moreover, active listening shows understanding. Besides communication, the women were also taught about stress management which is caused because of miscommunication at times. In the training that was conducted from 21st November till 24th November, the participants of the life skill class for women were trained by the VIN volunteers.

Further, the women were also taught about health and diseases. Handwashing, maintaining sanitary health especially during the monthly cycle and other everyday health behavior were also taught to the participants. The women, in the life skill class were also made aware about their rights in different sectors like health, education, property, society and so forth. The participants thanked VIN and volunteers for conducting the class.
