A new batch of volunteers

New volunteersOn April 1st, VIN welcomed nine new international volunteers from around the world : France, the US, Singapore, China, Denmark and Switzerland and two local volunteers from the country. Most of them are here for a short period of time, in order to reinforce the ranks of several existing projects : Wash, Climate Change and Water Research, Teaching Earthquake Victims,  Public Health, and Medical Care and Orphanage home. One of them also chose a program which VIN is currently developing : Reconstruction and Sustainability.
Volunteer orientation classThe volunteers participated to the three days induction program, 1st April to 3rd April 2016 which included a sightseeing of two famous sites on 2nd April in the whereabouts of Kathmandu : Patan Durbar Square and Swamyambunath (also called Monkey Temple).On the 1st day of Induction, they were given VIN traditional Nepali class, cultural tips and important health tips that will be useful for the duration of their stay. In  addition to that on the same night of induction, they were introduced to the liveliness of Thamel neighborhood by Joseph, one of the coordinator, who showed them around and took them for dinner in the famous Mandala Street. On the second day , VIN has organised the cultural sightseeing for all the volunteers and in night, the new volunteers met some of the old ones on a rooftop in Thamel, just for the purpose of chilling and having a good time. Finally on the last day of induction, Volunteers were provided the VIN’s introduction with the individual program orientation by the Program Officers till the half day . After that all new young-lings were placed according to their respective program and given the last instructions before they finally get to work.
