Swayambhu, Kathmandu
You will teach at different Buddhist monasteries and nunneries, Swoyambhu area, Kathmandu. They are situated on hills and lap of the hills, East of the Swayambhu stupa and Kathmandu's Ring Road. Because of this position it is a nice and quiet retreat from the hectic city. However, just 10-15 minutes down the hill (way up: 15-20 mins.), you reache Ring Road, where you can catch busses to almost everywhere in Kathmandu.   There will be 30 to over 200 monks and nuns in a monastery.    ...


Okhaldhunga
Okhaldhunga is located north east part of Nepal. It's 400 miles away from the capital.  Okhaldhunga is a very remote and rural community not to mention a welcome escape from the pollution of Kathmandu valley. You can go there either by plane (45 minutes flight) or by bus and one day walk. VIN's planning to work for three village development committee (VDC) namely Taluwa, Thulachhap and Bhadaure. There are over 10,000 polulation which comprize of schedule caste and marginalized people. They are very poor and many children do not enroll for school education and many of them drop out in their primary level. ...


Jitpur, Kathmandu

VIN’s main community-based pilot project is located at Jitpur, a rural community surrounded by woods, hills and fields. It lies 11 kilometres from the capital on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley near the beautiful Nagarjun forest reserve. It's just 10/12km away from the capital city.  Jitpur is a very charming community not to mention a welcome escape from the pollution of Kathmandu centre. There are over 7000 population in the area.
