Toilet construction work in Jitpurphedi community
Making septic tanks
VIN has been supporting various programs in community development. VIN has supported in toilet construction project with international volunteers. In this week there are supporting personal toilet construction program for two families of Devisthan and Dadagaun in Jitpurphedi community. The major objects are to improve health and hygiene facility by assuring family has toilet for community people and to support of government on open defecate free village. VIN provided non local materials and volunteers labor support for two families. Four international volunteers and one local volunteer were working in two personal toilets and one school (Mahadevsthan primary school Dandagaun) from 10.30 Am to 4.00 pm from Monday to Friday.
There were different type of activities has done like family motivation, digging septic tank holes, making wall of tanks and helping with the wall construction of toilet house. In school they helped to dig safety tank hole of 8 fit* 8 fit measurement. The local facilitator gets in touch with the communities who want to build toilets and decide when volunteers are going to help them. Then at first they dig the septic tank, and then they are supposed to build the toilet building. Volunteers have some disagreement with the family’s working culture, they have no chance to work on a project from the beginning until the end by volunteers and some family want to build or digging temporary toilets.
